Join us for Sounds from Afar, a monthly cultural experience where refugee and guest chefs share the flavors of their homelands, paired with vinyl music that traces the rhythms of migration, memory, and celebration. Each day blends cultural food, sound, and art into an intimate and deeply human journey across borders.
Our upcoming brunches feature:
Sudan — August 24
Venezuela — September 28
Mexico/Texas Border — October 19
Eritrea — November 23
Seating & Ambience We offer standing room or two seating areas:
Sunroom: Located closest to the music, this space is ideal for guests seeking a full immersive experience.
Veranda: A cozy, small patio area with a more intimate ambiance. Both spaces feature surround sound and communal seating, accommodating up to 24 guests per room.
Why Attend? When you purchase a ticket, you’re not only enjoying an unforgettable night — you’re directly supporting The Tiyya Foundation’s programs. 100% of proceeds fund our Refugee Culinary Program and Sounds from Afar series, creating job opportunities for immigrant home-trained chefs, preserving global food traditions, and building inclusive community spaces in Los Angeles.
